Aechmea blanchetiana This is a beautiful bromeliad that will add color (yellows, oranges, reds) to any garden. Some say neglecting this plant will yield more colorful foliage making it a smart addition to any xeriscaping garden. The flowers on the stalks are not very colorful, however the bracts are a gorgeous red and yellow. They are long lasting on the plant or as a cut flower. This plant is propagated by suckers or root bulbs. It is attractive to butterflies, bees and birds. It can be grown inside, or outside in the ground or in a container.
