Ajania pacifica
(ajania)

This is an herbaceous ground cover native to Japan. This plant has attractive green and white/silver variegated foliage that can fill in areas where weeds are unwelcome or be an attractive boarder. The flowers bloom in the fall and look like small golden buttons which are attractive to bees. Cutting them back in the summer will make the plant become bushy. It can be propagated by root cuttings, bulbs and rhizomes, and spring is the best time to divide the plant. It can be drought tolerant after it is established. They can tolerate poor soil if there is good drainage.
