Astronium lecointei (muiracatiara) is a timber tree native to South America. It grows primarily in wet tropical forests. This species is a tree known for its dense, durable, and high-quality hardwood, which is valued in the timber industry. Muiracatiara wood is used for various purposes, including construction, cabinetry, flooring, and furniture. This plant has not been documented as naturalized in any Hawaiian Islands to date.
