Alocasia ‘Low Rider’ is a compact ornamental elephant ear developed as a cultivated hybrid for landscaping and container gardening. Unlike many larger Alocasia species, it has a low, mounding growth habit, typically reaching only 2–3 feet (0.6–0.9 m) tall. Its distinctive, glossy, dark green leaves are thick, heavily textured, and held upright on short stems, giving the plant a bold tropical appearance while remaining manageable in small gardens. ‘Low Rider’ is widely grown as an accent plant in shaded landscapes, patios, and interiors, and is valued for its attractive foliage, compact size, and ease of cultivation.
