• Tolerates many soil types
  
• Reproduces by seeds and vegetatively by stem fragments
  
• Seeds dispersed by wind, gravity, possibly water and intentionally by people

Low Risk Traits:

• Despite naturalization in the Hawaiian Islands, negative impacts have not been reported
  
• Unarmed (no spines, thorns or burrs)
  
• Non-toxic
