• Produces abundant seeds that can spread beyond planting areas
  
• Fast growth rate that allows it to establish quickly in favorable conditions
  
• Tolerant of a range of soil types once established
  
• Widely cultivated ornamental, increasing opportunities for escape from landscapes
  
• Member of a genus that includes several known invasive species in Hawaiʻi and other tropical regions

Low Risk Traits:

• Not currently documented as aggressively invasive in Hawaiʻi
  
• Generally requires full sun and managed landscapes for best performance
  
• Limited evidence of forming dense, self-sustaining stands in natural areas
  
• Primarily spreads by seed rather than vegetative reproduction
  
• Often planted intentionally and maintained as an ornamental tree
