- Other Cyathea species (e.g. C. cooperi) have become invasive

- Tolerates many soil conditions (and potentially able to exploit many different habitat types)
- Hybridizes with other Cyathea species
- Numerous spores dispersed by wind and water and ferns intentionally planted by people
- Tolerates fires

- No reports of naturalization or invasiveness to date
- Non-toxic
- Landscaping and ornamental value
- Long time to reproductive maturity (up to 20 years)
