- May be able to resprout from rhizomes after cutting or damage to top foliage

- Unarmed (no spines, thorns or burrs)
- Ornamental
- Non-toxic
- Requires specialized pollinators
- Limited or no seed production may reduce risk of inadvertent dispersal
