• No evidence of toxicity to humans or animals (explicitly stated as not poisonous)
  
• Dioecious (requires both male and female plants for seed production)
  
• Minimum generative time is 8 years (slow to reach maturity)
  
• No evidence of prolific seed production (>1000/m²)
  
• No evidence of a persistent seed bank (>1 year)
