Family: Fabaceae
Perennial peanut is a herbaceous groundcover that is nitrogen-fixing, keeps weeds out, and has prolific yellow flowers. It is a perfect border for garden beds as it feeds your plants while keeping weeds from creeping in. It does best in full sun but will grow well in partial shade. This plant roots easily from clippings, make sure some nodes are covered with soil. Keep your Arachis glabrata bed weeded and watered until it is well established. Perennial peanut is a low-maintenance and drought-tolerant plant that can handle some salt spray.
