‘Āhinahina has beautiful silvery leaves and makes an excellent shrub or groundcover. It grows to about 3′ in ideal conditions. Use as an accent plant, a container plant, and is a great plant to feature on a lanai. A perfect xeriscape plant, it is drought tolerant. Although endemic to high elevation slopes near Haleakalā in Maui, it does well in pots and adapts well to lower elevations – even windward coastal sites. The silvery foliage makes it an incredibly striking plant!
