Family: Asteraceae
Nehe produces daisy-like yellow flowers that have 25 to 50 disk florets per head. Mature plants bloom year-round. It is long-lived and makes a great alternative to wedelia. Use as a native accent plant, ground cover, erosion control, or container plant. This plant is prone to ants, scale, spittlebugs, and mealy bugs. If kept too moist, they may be subject to powdery mildew. Space at least 1 foot apart between plantings and plants will grow together, forming a mat. The flowers of nehe were used for lei-making by early Hawaiians.
