Hala pepe is an endemic shrub with a columnar shape and spreading crown. It is very drought tolerant, so do not over water. These are slow growing plants that can reach heights of up to 25 feet. This species is one of the easiest and rewarding to grow and thrives between mid to low elevations. Hala pepe flower during the summer time and display clusters of greenish to yellow showy flowers that abundantly hang from panicles.
