A native flowering shrub with a round habit.
The maximum height is around 5 feet at full maturity. Leaflets are oppositely arranged and are covered in pubescent hair, especially new growth and the leaflet top. Flowering occurs in the Winter and Spring; colors range from yellow to green. A ‘C’ shaped seed pod follows flowering, green at first, turning brown as it ripens. Kolomona is a nitrogen-fixing, drought-tolerant plant that thrives in full sun. Propagation is by seed. Flowers are used for lei making and dye.
